  I think they should be fined for misrepresentation. A landfill is somewhere you can take trash, debris, rubbish, garbages, trash, etc. The Eastern Area "Garbage Drop Off" is simply a place to go if you do not have residential garbage pickup. Maybe if we start just leaving all of this at the curb these overpaid, under educated, corruption infested politicians we have running the county will get the hint. It is time that the Jefferson County districts are structured/created in a way that gives those of us who chose not to live in the Birmingham city limits a voice in count politics. It is no wonder everyone is moving to Shelby and St Clair counties. When I had a chance to chose leaving the corruption of Jefferson county was the only logical choice to make.

  Like many others here, I was turned away because I had debris from a few handyman projects around my house. I'm not a contractor, just a guy trying to take some old wood to the landfill. I pay my taxes in Jefferson county, I should be able to take my trash to their giant hole in the ground, dug for that purpose.

  Disposing of my household trash and garbage at Eastern Landfill has been an overall pleasant experience. It is a neatly kept, odor-free and employees are helpful. I appreciate this resource--just wish it included recycling.

  The staff is very....umm...aggressive. the people at the site go through your garbage when you arrive and sort out what they want to keep. They hover like vultures. Bring them a broken chair if you want good service.
